Amanda (Xiaoman) bi has over 12 years of experience in working with patents in China and in the U.S. Amanda’s patent experience spans many technical areas in the electrical, mechanical, and biomedical arts. Specifically, she has worked on patent matters involving computer software, artificial intelligence, electronic devices, telecommunications, memory systems, networking, wireless technology mechanics, medical devices, and circuitry.
During law school, she was on the Chicago-Kent Journal of Intellectual Property Executive Board and was Executive Editor of the journal. Prior to that, while working at law firms in China, Amanda prosecuted hundreds patent applications before the CNIPA. Amanda received her Chinese Patent Bar Qualification in 2011 and her Chinese Bar qualification in 2014.
Before her career in patent law, Amanda worked for six years as an engineer. She designed hardware and software for embedded systems. A combination of real-world engineering experience and legal experience has allowed her to become a skilled patent professional. Her industry experience enables her to better understand clients’ technologies and their concerns, and her performance is frequently acknowledged by clients.
Amanda is a native Chinese speaker.
